Can I drink fruit juice instead of water while exercising?

Fruit Juice

Grab that OJ for sports nutrition! Fruit juices are not easily absorbed during activity, but are good to drink as part of your sports nutrition diet after a hard workout, to both help with rehydration and replenish glycogen.

I agree, an ice cold bottle of oj is sitting in the fridge right now as I'm contemplating working out this afternoon. Thanks for the tip.

be careful though because most fruit juices are very high in sugar. The best juice to look for is anything saying 100% juice with no artificial sweeteners and minute maid offers a light orange juice now with half the sugar of normal orange juice.

the best juice to look for is water! Avoid the high sugar. And cold drinks snarl up your digestion.

A comment on the above comments :
Drinking "ice cold" immediately after workout may not be such a good idea;
so is Minute Maid's sugar-down "orange juice" half water? Fruit sugars are not the enemy that refined cane sugar is.
