For best results in losing weight through exercise, do both strength training and cardio. Strength training burns some calories while you're doing the routine, but cardio burns more in the same time period. Working with weights does raise your metabolism so you burn more calories for some time after your workout. Still, it's best to do some of both types of exercise.
