Tip of the Week

You do not want or need to workout your abs everyday. It is true that muscles of the abdominal region have a higher percentage of red, or slow twitch, muscle fibers than many larger muscle groups and this allows them to recover faster. This is why people often say that it okay to work them each day. But okay and good are two different things. Muscles only grow and get stronger while at rest. If you err, it is better to over rest than overtrain. Therefore, it`s better to totally hammer your abs and then give them a day off to grow strong than to work them each day and compromise their recovery.
