Tip of the Week

The women`s division of the Los Angeles Marathon was won in a time of 2 hr 29 min 40 sec by Tatyana Pozdnyakova of the Ukraine. Tatyana is 47 years old and the oldest winner of a major marathon. She says running is the best way to stay young. The men`s division went to Kenya`s Mark Yatich in 2:09:52, but he`s only 30. Ernest van Leeuven finished in 6:54:25, but he set a record for the oldest person to finish LA, and possibly the best time ever for a 90-year-old. Ernie is interested in preserving the environment so there will be something left for the kids, and promotes that cause when he`s interviewed for his running achievements. Most of us will not match the success of these people, but if we stay active and interested, we don`t have to worry about getting old.
