December 27, 2002, Newsletter Issue #121: Joining a Gym?

Tip of the Week

Here are the most important things to look for when joining a gym. (1) Location. If it`s not convenient, you probably won`t go. (2) Equipment and facility. Make sure it has what you want, including classes if that`s what you want. (3) Atmosphere. Do you feel comfortable there, or do you hate the music or find the members too different from yourself? Give it a chance. If everybody seems too young, ask when the older people come, for instance. Gym members tend to be helpful to newcomers. (4) Cleanliness. Especially in the locker rooms. (5) Price. A health club membership can be a great investment, but only if you use it.
