How can I avoid back injury while training?

Bending and Twisting

Twisting while you're in a forward flexed position puts your back at risk for injury. Try to square up your feet with the load, even when lifting light weights or other implements, and lift heavy objects by bending your knees, not leaning over from your waist.

You should also look towards the ceiling to ensure back stays straight

Absolutley true. I mess up my back 2-3 times a year and it is 'always' when I am extended forward and twist/lift. One time, I was lifting less than a pound. You'd think I'd learn.

Hi Nicholas, I have been running for a few years now but I started having pain in my knees (just above the knee caps) since 2009. It aggrevates when I have a run longer than the usual one. Just wondered if running is a good thing for me. I think it is wearing out my knees. Thanks
