Tip of the Week

Kids, like adults, have poor eating habits and are too sedentary. Schools don`t help with activity, and parents should make sure their kids exercise with activities they enjoy. Young children can`t be expected to make the right food choices on their own, but teenagers can. You teenagers would do well to eat more vegetables, drink less soda, and walk a few miles a day. Restrictive diets can cause damage to growing children (they`re not too good for adults either) and should be avoided. Calories and nutrients are important to growth. Talk to your doctor and make a plan to slim your kids down, or keep them from getting overweight in the first place.
